Homecoming (Oct. 21^st-23^rd) at Appalachian State University is fast approaching, and I want to take this time to inform you of the events both our Alumni Association and Chapter will be sponsoring for the weekend!

Friday Oct. 21^st, Afternoon/Evening-Klondike Café Happy Hour(s): As you arrive in Boone Friday afternoon and evening, be sure to stop by The Klondike Café to catch up with fellow Alumni! There will be great food and drink specials all day, and the new Iota Psi pledges will be driving beeper all evening.

Saturday Oct. 22^nd, All Day-Visit the Newly Renovated Pike House: Thanks to your generous contributions to the Iota Psi Housing Corporation, we made significant and much needed renovations to the Pike House on NC Hwy 105 S. We encourage you all to make a trip to the house while you are in Boone! To ensure all have the opportunity, there will be a beeper shuttle driving all day between the Pike House, Klondike, and Duck Pond Field.

Saturday Oct. 22^nd, 12 p.m.-3 p.m.-Pike Tailgate on Duck Pond Field: The chapter will be tailgating with the Alpha Delta Pi sorority on Duck Pond Field before the game.

Saturday Oct. 22^nd, 9p.m.-12 a.m.-Caddy Shack Date Function at the Pike House: The chapter will be having a date function at the Pike House on NC Hwy 105 S., and would like all alumni and their dates/wives to attend. It is by no means required that you dress according to the theme, but photos from the Alumni Golf Tournament suggest some of you may show up the undergrads!

To reiterate, there will be beepers driving Friday night, all day Saturday, and Saturday night. There will also be a beeper shuttling specifically between the Pike House, Klondike, and Duck Pond Field. In the days preceding Homecoming, we will post names and numbers of the beepers driving. We will also have printed out sheets with the beeper lists available at Klondike, the Pike House, and at Duck Pond Field. PIKES PEAK SUMMIT 2011 is open to all undergraduate and alumni brothers of Iota Psi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity. John McCann, our regional president, will be moderating.

Every other month, Alumni gather for lunch.  This month, we’ll be meeting at Village Tavern, in the South Park area of Charlotte.  Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 11 at noon!  See you there.

The Annual Alumni Golf Tournament is an Iota Psi tradition, are you part it? Don’t miss the opportunity to play this year’s tournament!

There will be a catered lunch, tee gifts for everyone who signs up before May 5th, and hopefully a couple of birdies. There are prizes for: the top four teams, closest to the pin, longest drive, and best effort.

Fox Den Country Club

Fox Den Country Club’s 18-hole Championship Golf Course with Crenshaw bent grass greens and Bermuda fairways. The beautiful rolling terrain and scenic views are those that golfers of all abilities will enjoy! Fox Den Country Club was design by renowned architect Clyde Johnston.

Fox Den is a well rounded course with lots of variety that will test your shot making abilities. The course length varies from 7005 yards from the gold tees down to 5300 yards from the red. The first few holes offer a parkland feel, set on mildly undulating land. The next six holes will remind you of mountain golf and the last six will make you feel like you’re on a beach course.
